Discover M Joy

Walking into M Joy feels like stepping into a place that already knows you. The first time I stopped by after a long weekday, the hum of conversation and the smell of freshly cooked comfort food immediately slowed me down. Located at 1071 N Tustin Ave Suite 108, Anaheim, CA 92807, United States, this diner-style restaurant has quietly built a reputation among locals who care about flavor, consistency, and a relaxed dining experience.

What stood out to me right away was how the menu balances familiarity with creativity. You’ll find classic diner staples alongside Asian-inspired comfort dishes, and nothing feels out of place. On my first visit, I ordered a rice bowl that looked simple but delivered layers of flavor-well-seasoned protein, vegetables cooked just right, and rice that wasn’t an afterthought. That attention to basics matters. According to data shared by the National Restaurant Association, repeat customers are most influenced by food consistency and staff friendliness, and this place checks both boxes without trying too hard.

Over multiple visits, I noticed the same process playing out in the open kitchen. Orders are cooked fresh, plated carefully, and sent out quickly without feeling rushed. One server explained that they prep core ingredients daily to maintain quality while keeping wait times short. That kind of workflow is common in well-run diners but surprisingly rare in smaller restaurants. It’s also why reviews often mention reliability-you get what you expect, and it’s good every time.

Speaking of reviews, scrolling through customer feedback online shows a clear pattern. People talk about generous portions, friendly staff, and food that travels well for takeout. One reviewer described their go-to order as worth the drive every single time, which mirrors my own experience when I’ve picked up dinner to-go. Even after a 15-minute drive home, the food holds up, which says a lot about how it’s prepared and packed.

The atmosphere leans casual, making it easy to drop in for lunch or linger a bit longer during dinner. Families, solo diners, and small groups all seem equally comfortable here. From what I’ve seen, the staff adapts naturally, whether someone needs menu suggestions or just wants a quick bite. Hospitality research from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration highlights that perceived warmth from staff significantly boosts guest satisfaction, and that warmth is obvious here without feeling scripted.

One thing I appreciate is how transparent the restaurant is about what it does well. This isn’t a fine-dining destination, and it doesn’t pretend to be. Instead, it focuses on hearty meals, efficient service, and a welcoming vibe. The limitation, if there is one, is seating during peak hours-it can get busy, especially on weekends. Planning around that or opting for takeout usually solves the issue.

For anyone exploring dining options around Anaheim, this location stands out for its consistency and approachability. It’s the kind of place where regulars are greeted with familiarity, newcomers feel comfortable asking questions, and the menu offers enough variety to keep things interesting. As one customer casually put it while waiting next to me, this place just gets it right.

  • If you don’t like the gamy taste of lamb, but still like the meat, this is definitely the place to come and try it out. Everything is freshly imported from New Zeland, and also halal! Highly recommend their rib and shank for one person (but definitely can feed two.) the rice is nice and fluffy, and the grill ribs are mighty tasty. For drinks their Jasmin yuzu is really refreshing! And highly recommend trying out their specialty tea (salty) it’s a flavor I’ve never experienced but so good.

  • Original lamb ribs the best! The original shank and grilled rib also very good!! The skewers are average, not as outstanding as the ribs. The bone broth is also pretty good. The salty milk tea is interesting, not bad. Since it’s all meats, it gets kinda greasy and heavy. Wish they have some veggies options to balance it out.

  • I just had the **best lamb ribs with rice** absolutely delicious! The lamb was incredibly tender, literally falling off the bone. It was juicy and packed with rich, flavorful seasoning. The rice was equally impressive — moist and well-seasoned, a perfect complement to the meat. I also tried the lamb skewers; they were tasty, though a little too salty for my personal preference. Overall, a fantastic meal. I’ll definitely be back!!!

  • This is where you have to go for all things lamb. JUICY lamb skewers, lamb ribs that are literally fall off the bone, and GIANT lamb shanks. Did you know that New Zealand lamb is the only lamb without that gamey taste? It's considered premium and, of course, this is the only kind of lamb they serve here. And you can even try a specialty drink made with milk that's salty(!!) here. My tastebuds were confused but it's actually quite yummy, don't knock until you try it ;) Thanks for reading! ^-^

  • Possibly the best lamb we’ve had in awhile...!!! We are visiting from New York for a friend’s wedding and were craving for some good lamb. The lamb ribs and leg (over rice) are insanely well seasoned, tender and juicy. We also ordered the grilled ribs and skewers - super crispy skin with plenty of cumin & spice on the side as well. The owners were very hospitable and friendly. Wish we can have access to this level of quality for lamb cuisine in NY

  • Absolutely love this place! I’m in my 3rd trimester of my pregnancy and has to stay in Kaiser Anaheim due to physical therapy, this place is just minutes away and I do miss their light yet flavorful lamb rice, my families were able to order some and bring over to my bedside. I have to say, this is the best thing for someone with illness! The lamb is not heavily seasoned and the meat is so tender and juicy, the rice is so yum too! I always love their homemade yogurt, which is thick but not too sweet, perfect for digestion and after meal snack!

  • Very simple setting for such a delicious meal! The rest itself is small, bright and clean. You order using their QR code. The food itself was delicious! The lamb was so darn tender you just needed a fork. The seasonings were spot on yummy. We had the lamb served all three ways and honestly you can’t go wrong with any of them. I myself liked the grilled shank the best. Loved their dipping seasoning so much I wanted to take it home! Don’t forget to wash down your meal with their tea and for sure try their yogurt. The yogurt was just the right texture and sweetness!

  • We ordered grilled lamb rib over rice, salty milk tea, and sweet milk tea. They are so so so delicious. The lamb is pre stewed then grilled, and has drying seasoning with chili powder and cumin over it. It is so delicious. The waiter is both friendly and attentive.
